Dr Christian on 'CBD Extract – Natural CBD vs synthetic CBD?'
Natural CBD has been extracted from cannabis plants grown specially for this purpose. The extract may be relatively unrefined, taking advantage of the symbiotic effect of other compounds that may work beneficially with CBD, or it may be highly refined until it contains only CBD.
Synthetic CBD is created chemically and will contain no plant derived compounds.
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is one of the most well-known of the 80 or so biologically active compounds found in Cannabis plants. It has gained considerable popularity in recent years for its potential benefits in the world of health and wellness.
This surge in interest started following the discovery of a group of neurotransmitters and receptors in the central nervous system that closely resemble, or bind to, cannabinoids.
Because these various receptors are found on a wide variety of different cell types, including those in the brain, gastrointestinal system, and certain immune cells, it is hoped that CBD-like compounds can be usefully used to interact with these cells in specific ways, and show therapeutic benefits.
Although CBD is found in marijuana, it is not psychoactive and does not cause any of the euphoria, or high, associated with marijuana use.

With the introduction of novel food regulations, UK legislators have made it easier to obtain CBD oil and capsules. The much-anticipated novel food exemption list has been eagerly anticipated by the CBD food supplement industry.
The new exemption list for CBD food supplements will be released in the coming weeks. They are also subject to stricter regulations.

Natural CBD or cannabis-derived CBD
CBD extract Cannabidiol (also known as natural CBD or cannabis-derived CBD) is extracted from cannabis Sativa (hemp), and other strains of cannabis, if it was grown in Europe. This has become the most common ingredient source for CBD UK products in recent years.
Some ‘full-extracted cannabis products’ contain trace elements of other cannabinoids such as CBG and CBN. New food regulations permit CBD products to remain on the market.
CBD should be the predominant compound in the product. CBD isolate is now more popular than full- or wide-spectrum extracts.
This method is preferred by many brands to avoid regulatory concerns. There are many CBD oils that only contain single-molecule CBD.
They can also be mixed with carrier oils such as MCT and coconut.
What's CBD isolate?
Environment friendly
Economically savvy
The economic benefits of natural cannabis products are also significant. Because they provide additional work for the agriculture industry, this is why natural cannabis products have an economic benefit.
There are many jobs in the supply chain, from seeding and harvesting to processing, refining and testing. A kilogram of CBD isolate, which has been extracted naturally, is available for around one-seventh of the cost of synthetic counterparts.
Natural CBD isolate will result in a drop in prices for consumers. Other phytocannabinoids from hemp can be extracted and used for cosmetics.
